I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist and I am passionate about providing accessible, authentic, genuine care with a holistic view of healing. I have a fundamental belief that goodness and resilience exist at some level in most all people. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can provide a space for healing and change through safety, kindness, compassion, humor, and play. I am especially passionate about supporting children, clients with ADHD, young elite athletes, and para-athletes. My approach is integrative with an emphasis on human connection, and is informed by Parts work/Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ericksonian hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Gestalt Therapy. I also use Play Therapy, and my work in Play therapy is informed by the Play Therapy Dimensions Model, Child-Centred therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and the neurosequential model of development. I can incorporate creative arts and storytelling techniques in work with clients of all ages.
I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology, while minoring in music, and working as a coach. It was during this time that I realized I could combine my passions for mental health, athletics, and the creative arts in a career as a psychologist with a special focus in both sports and performance psychologist and play therapy. I truly believe that with the right set of skills, people can take steps to improve not only their athletic or creative performance, but also their overall quality of life. My goal is to help people do exactly that, and help unlock confidence, self awareness, insight, and belief and ability to recognize your truest potential along the way.
Sports and Performance Background
I have been involved in sports and performance for as long as I can remember. I started skiing before my second birthday and never looked back! I soon became a competitive alpine ski racer, where I was internationally carded for two years, and then went on to coach both alpine and para-alpine ski racing. A highlight of my coaching career was representing Team Alberta at Canada Winter Games 2019 in Para-Alpine. I am also a life long creative- I am an avid musician, and I also enjoy acting, musical theatre, and painting!
